Undying SMP Rules

Please read the rules below before joining the server. Undying is intentionally chaotic, but there are limits.

Important: Griefing, raiding, stealing, and PvP are allowed. The rules below are primarily intended to prevent cheating, scams, abuse, and actions that seriously damage the server or its community.

1. Griefing, Raiding & Stealing

Griefing bases, raiding players, stealing items, PvP, and destroying builds are allowed on Undying SMP.

However, repeatedly targeting the same player solely to prevent them from reasonably playing may be treated as harassment under Rule 12.

2. Transaction Scamming

Intentionally deceiving another player during a player-to-player transaction to obtain their money, items, or resources is prohibited.

Example: "I'll sell you a Skeleton Spawner for $1,000,000." The player pays and the seller intentionally teleports away without giving the spawner. This is scamming.

Bad deals, expensive prices, market manipulation, or players regretting a legitimate purchase are not automatically considered scams.

  • 1st offense → 1-day ban
  • 2nd offense → 1-month ban
  • 3rd+ offense → 1-year ban

3. Chat Spam

Excessive or disruptive chat spam is prohibited.

  • 1st offense → 1-minute mute
  • 2nd offense → 1-minute mute
  • 3rd offense → 1-minute mute
  • Every offense afterward → Kick + 30-minute mute

4. Hacking & Cheating

Using hacked clients, cheats, unauthorized modifications, or other methods of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited.

  • 1st offense → Warning
  • 2nd offense → 1-hour ban
  • 3rd offense → 1-day ban
  • 4th offense → 1-month ban
  • 5th+ offense → 1-year ban

Less destructive cheats, such as X-ray or flight, may receive reduced punishment depending on the circumstances.

Severe cheating, including mass killing players, giving yourself money or items, destroying the economy, or causing major server damage may result in an immediate permanent ban.

5. Family-Friendly Content

Undying SMP is intended to remain safe and appropriate for players of all ages.

Sexual, pornographic, excessively graphic, explicit, or otherwise NSFW content is prohibited. This includes usernames, skins, chat, builds, map art, books, signs, and similar content.

  • 1st offense → Kick
  • 2nd offense → 1-hour ban
  • 3rd offense → 1-day ban
  • 4th+ offense → 1-month ban

6. Real-Money Trading (RMT)

Buying or selling Minecraft accounts, server currency, items, ranks, or other in-game resources for real-world money is prohibited unless explicitly authorized by Undying SMP.

Seller:
  • 1st offense → 1-hour mute
  • 2nd offense → 1-day mute + Kick
  • 3rd+ offense → 1-week ban
Buyer:
  • 1st offense → 30-minute mute
  • 2nd offense → 1-hour mute
  • 3rd offense → 1-day ban

All RMT-acquired resources will be removed. If money was purchased, both server currencies will be reset to $0.

If items were purchased, the player's inventory and Ender Chest will be emptied where reasonably applicable.

7. Fake Staff / Staff Impersonation

Pretending to be staff or intentionally misleading players into believing that you are staff is prohibited.

  • 1st offense → 1-hour ban
  • 2nd offense → 1-day ban
  • 3rd offense → 1-month ban
  • 4th+ offense → 100-day ban + Permanent mute

Staff impersonation used to scam, steal, threaten, or obtain items may receive additional punishment.

8. Bugs & Exploits

Not every unintended Minecraft mechanic is considered an offense. Common technical mechanics and contraptions, such as stasis chambers and established technical farms, may be allowed.

However, intentionally abusing serious bugs or glitches to gain an unfair advantage, bypass protections, manipulate PvP, duplicate resources, exploit plugins, or significantly harm the server is prohibited.

  • 1st offense → Kick / Warning
  • 2nd offense → 1-hour ban
  • 3rd offense → 1-day ban
  • 4th offense → 1-week ban

Staff may treat particularly severe exploits more seriously.

9. Duplication

Intentionally duplicating items, money, or resources through unintended mechanics is prohibited.

  • 1st offense → Kick / Warning
  • 2nd offense → 1-day ban
  • 3rd offense → 6-month ban
  • 4th+ offense → Permanent mute + Adventure Mode

All duplicated resources may be removed. Players who knowingly receive or distribute duplicated resources may also be punished.

10. Receiving Illegitimate Items

If you receive items, money, or resources obtained through hacking, duping, cheating, exploiting, or another prohibited method, you must report it to staff immediately.

Knowingly keeping, hiding, selling, trading, or using illegitimate resources may result in punishment of up to half of the punishment given to the original offender.

Punishment may be reduced or removed if you genuinely did not know, immediately report the situation, or were threatened or coerced into accepting the resources.

11. Punishment Evasion

Using an alternate account while your main account is banned is allowed unless the alternate account is used to continue prohibited behavior.

Continuing the same offense on an alternate account may result in:

  • Main account → Permanent ban
  • Alternate account → Permanent ban
  • Inventory → Emptied
  • Balance → Reset
  • Account → Adventure Mode
  • Additional server restrictions may apply

Attempting to hack or technically bypass a ban will result in permanent punishment and additional measures to prevent further access.

12. Harassment & Targeted Griefing

Repeatedly targeting, following, destroying, or interfering with the same player specifically to make their experience miserable may be considered harassment.

Staff will normally issue a warning before punishment. Normal griefing and raiding are still allowed.

  • Warning → No punishment
  • 1st offense → Kick + 1-hour mute
  • 2nd offense → 1-day mute + 1-hour ban
  • 3rd offense → 1-month mute + 1-day ban
  • Continued offenses → Permanent mute + 1-week ban

13. Hate Speech

Players may disagree with political parties, ideologies, governments, organizations, or groups.

Disagreement must not become slurs, targeted harassment, dehumanization, hateful attacks, or similar behavior.

  • 1st offense → 1-day mute + 1-hour ban
  • 2nd offense → 1-day ban + 1-month mute
  • 3rd offense → 1-month ban + Permanent mute
  • 4th+ offense → 100-day ban

14. Real-World Threats

Threats of real-world violence, harm, stalking, doxxing, or other serious real-world harm result in an immediate permanent ban.

15. In-Game Threats

Threats such as claiming that you will hack another player, falsely claiming that a friend is an administrator, or threatening other in-game consequences are treated separately from real-world threats.

  • 1st offense → 1-month ban
  • 2nd+ offense → Permanent ban

16. Profanity

Undying is intended to remain family-friendly. Excessive profanity and inappropriate language are prohibited under the same general family-friendly standards as NSFW content.

Staff may consider context and severity when determining whether a violation occurred.

17. Disagreements With Staff

Disagreeing with staff decisions is completely allowed. Players are free to respectfully question or appeal decisions.

Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abusive behavior toward staff is prohibited.

Violations may result in a 3-day ban + 7-day mute per violation.

18. Rule Changes

Rules may and will be updated as Undying SMP develops. Players are responsible for staying up to date with the current rules.

19. Staff Discretion

Listed punishments are standard punishments, not guaranteed minimum or maximum punishments.

Staff may increase, decrease, combine, or otherwise modify punishments depending on the severity, circumstances, intent, and impact of a violation.

What is Undying SMP?

Undying SMP is a Minecraft survival economy server focused on progression, trading, competition, PvP, raiding, and community.

Is griefing allowed?

Yes. Griefing, raiding, stealing, and PvP are part of Undying SMP. However, repeatedly targeting someone specifically to ruin their ability to play may be considered harassment.

Can I scam players?

No. Intentionally taking someone's money or items through a deceptive transaction is prohibited. Normal bad deals and high prices are allowed.

Can I play with friends?

Absolutely. Form teams, create alliances, build bases together, start businesses, or compete against each other.

Can Java and Bedrock players play together?

Yes. Undying SMP supports both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition players.
